Later he realized that while it provides a valuable service to the parties involved, it is a terrible business model as it often takes years for a deal to close. These experiences led David to become a private transaction advisor, helping businesses position themselves for sale and navigate the transaction process. While client pays less than what they do in a brokerage, the difference is every client pays. In his previous work within the franchise, it was common for a deal to fall apart that you've been working on. The only way he would make money previously was if the transaction closed. In this manner every client pays. One of the most common problems he finds in businesses today is that they have no processes or systems to operate on. What this means is they really do not have a business, as it is not duplicatable or scalable. The only way it can grow is for the owner to find someone with the exact same level of knowledge and experience as they do. The only way for a business to grow and scale in today's world is to leverage employees who will perform day to day tasks freeing you to focus on the processes that lead to growth.
